Deliciously rich, yet light and soft, this classic marble cake is an easy yet special chocolate cake for your Easter table. Made with our fairly traded cacao powder and coconut sugar, it's finished with a smooth cacao sauce drizzle to drool over.
1 1/2 cups self raising flour (can sub in gluten free flour)
1 cup Power Super Foods Coconut Sugar
6 eggs or egg replacer
25g butter or vegan butter
1/2 cup potato starch
1 tablespoon pure vanilla essence
3 tablespoons Power Super Foods Cacao Gold Powder
3 tablespoons of milk of choice
3 tablespoons of Power Super Foods Coconut Sugar
3 tablespoons Power Super Foods Cacao Powder
50g butter of choice
Melt the butter and allow it to cool
Combine flour with potato starch
Grind the Coconut Sugar until a fine powder to assist with the cake’s texture
Beat the egg whites with Coconut Sugar until stiff and glossy
Add remaining egg yolks and mix
Add vanilla essence
Gradually whisk in flour with potato starch
Add cooled butter and mix in
Pour half of the batter into baking form and mix 2 tbsp of Cacao Gold Powder with remaining cake batter
Pour cacao batter on top of the vanilla cake batter
Bake at 160C for 45 min or until golden or a skewer comes out clean
Melt sauce ingredients together on low heat
Continually stir until chocolate becomes a thick pouring consistency
