For a transcendent morning or afternoon ritual, make this delectable hot chocolate using our 100% solid Peruvian cacao paste.
20 - 40g shaved Cacao Gold Paste
200-250 mls plant based milk eg almond
optional: 5g Cacao Butter or about one button
Heat milk of choice to steaming (do not boil). We like to use plant based milks like almond, oat, cashew, hemp or macadamia
Drop 20 - 40g shaved Cacao Gold Paste or 4-6 cacao Paste buttons into your favourite mug
Pour a small amount of heated water onto the cacao to emulsify
Add heated milk and mix using a hand frother, blender, or steam wand until it's melted, frothy and well mixed. If your mug is small you may want to do this in a separate jug.
Mix in a heaped teaspoon of hulled tahini spread (you could also use another nut butter)
Add a pinch of salt to balance the bitterness
Sweeten to taste (maple syrup, coconut sugar or raw honey are our favourites)
Inhale the aroma, sip and savour slowly
