Our ethically sourced fairly traded cacao and maca creates a wave of positive outcomes for small-scale farmers through economic and social empowerment, whilst encouraging biodiversity and conservation. Power Super Foods Dreamy Drinking Chocolate contains magnesium and iron and beneficial antioxidants. GMO free, certified organic, fair trade and ethically sourced from Peru, maca contains beneficial phytonutrients, amino acids and antioxidants. Maca is a known adaptogen. Adaptogens work in synergy with the body by providing overall nutritional support to help you ‘adapt’ during times of stress and fatigue. Our natural cacao is non-alkalised to maintain the beneficial phytonutrients the wondrous superfood cacao is renowned for. Naturally sweetened with dates known to contain tryptophan to help your body product melatonin and magnesium to support sleep. Chamomile, ziziphus, Californian Poppy and passionflower are all herbs known to support the nervous system and promote better quality sleep.

QUALITY
All cacao is not created equal. The cacao used in our Dreamy Drinking Chocolate comes from the finest quality criollo cacao beans organically grown on smallholder farms in South and central America. Unlike cocoa powders that are often heated to more than 150 degrees and chemically extracted, our cacao powder is minimally processed with care at low temperatures for a superior richer taste and higher nutritional benefits.
Our cacao is fairly traded and certified organic with no toxic chemicals, pesticides or GMOs used in cultivation or processing. As an additional step for product purity, we also ensure all our cacao is tested for safe low levels of cadmium.
Fairy traded sustainable cacao ensures producers receive a fair price for their cacao and helps break the cycle of poverty, bringing opportunities and dignity to indigenous communities.
When selecting our cacao we only choose the most delicious and exceptional cacao we can find with a complex flavour profile and superior texture. We think it’s the best cacao in the world! Our Maca and Lucuma come from Fair Trade certified organic farmers in Peru. Herbs used are naturopathically formulated and of the highest quality.

VIEW CACAO RECIPES
Smooth, soothing and relaxing, Dreamy Drinking Chocolate makes an exceptional night time hot chocolate. Dissolve 2-4 teaspoons (1-2 tsp for kids) with a splash of boiled water then top with 200mls of heated milk of choice or water. The ideal temperature is around 70 degrees. Mix well using a whisk, frother or steam wand. Dreamy contains no refined sugars and is balanced by naturally sweet lucuma, malty maca and naturally sweet dates. Enjoy hot or cold, before bedtime. Whilst you can add Dreamy to raw and baked treats, ensure you're consuming them at bedtime only to avoid drowsiness.
Origins of Cacao
Native to South American rainforests surrounding the Amazon, Theobroma Cacao (a name translating to “food of the Gods”) has attracted the adoration of humanity dating back to ancient Mayan civilisation, where cacao was prized for its ability to promote energy and mental clarity.

The ingredients are so cool - I have not seen a hot chocolate like this before (love the use of dates as a sweetener) and I loved the taste. The powder melted down really well into my drink (no lumps) and felt absolutely calming and cosy. The choice of ingredients is perfect and I loved learning about the sourcing of ingredients, community development and awareness, creating truely environmentally aware packaging. I’m impressed that third party testing is done for heavy metals too.

The herbal notes come through quite distinctly in this one, and you can also pick up the natural fruitiness from the dates used as a sweetener, which is an interesting touch. Easily adjusted to taste too. What stands out most to me about Power Super Foods is their commitment to third-party testing for heavy metals, particularly the cadmium and lead in their cacao. This is such an important step in the superfood and cacao category, where contamination risk can be higher than people realise, and it gives me a real confidence in the safety and quality behind the product.

I tried the Dreamy Night Drinking Chocolate from Power Super Foods and honestly, it’s become such a lovely part of my wind-down routine. It has this rich, smooth cacao flavour that feels super comforting without being overly sweet and I love knowing it’s packed with calming herbs like passionflower, chamomile, and California poppy. You can really feel the difference- it’s like a warm hug in a mug that helps your body and mind slow down after a busy day. What’s even better is that it’s free from refined sugar and made with organic, naturopath-approved ingredients like maca and lucuma, so it’s a treat that actually supports your body too. I’ve been having it about 30 minutes before bed and it’s helped me feel more settled and ready for sleep. Definitely one of those little self-care things I’ll be keeping in my pantry.
