Wild harvested from the pristine seas of the North Atlantic, Power Super Foods Nori grows in a remote, intertidal zone. This immaculate environment ensures our raw organic Nori Flakes are free of impurities. Good for you, good for the planet Our raw Nori is sustainably hand selected by certified organic, small-scale harvesters, then air dried. These practices ensure minimal environmental impact and promote the sustainable supply of sea vegetables. Nori Flakes provide a low-calorie delicious source of vitamins and minerals including iodine, Vitamin E, B3, B12, iron and potassium. Iodine is essential for the production of normal thyroid hormones and energy metabolism and iron is necessary for normal immune system function and oxygen transport throughout the body. Vitamin B12 supports DNA synthesis and the normal function of brain, nerve and blood cells.
Dried not fried our nori flakes are raw and wild. Hand harvested from the pristine waters of the north Atlantic they are then gently dried at low temperatures to retain nutrients. Tested for microbes, heavy metals, radiation and other contaminants, our seaweeds also pass a series of rigid third party protocols to be classified as Australian certified organic. Our seaweeds grow in remote seas away from cities and associated pollution and are hand harvested sustainably and responsibly by experienced foragers.
Power Super Foods nori flakes have a mild, slightly sweet taste. Sprinkle onto miso, noodles, bibimbap bowls, sushi and stir fries or use in bread and savoury baking. Nori is also a versatile alternative to salt, and makes a nutritious seasoning and flavour enhancer for soups, casseroles, stocks, salads and homemade popcorn.
Also called laver, nori has long been enjoyed by coastal populations mostly in Asia and Europe. Much of its popularity can be attributed to its impressive nutrient density and high mineral and vitamin content. Seaweed naturally absorbs the nutrients from its marine environment, making sourcing from pure waters vital.
