snacks
Looking for a healthy snack to keep the hungry school holiday crowd happy? Assemble a batch of these easy to make Banana Cacao Bites and if there’s any left for the kids you can share.
Power Super Foods
2 bananas
2 Tbsp coconut oil
3 Tbsp Power Super Foods Cacao Powder
1 Tbsp Power Super Foods Raw or Gelatinised Maca (we used gelatinised for a bit more of a toasty flavour)
2 Tsp maple syrup to taste
Crushed nuts – we used roasted almonds but you could use peanuts, hazelnuts or pecans.
Power Super Foods Cacao Crunch or Cacao Nibs
Nut butter – we used Roasted Almond Butter from @yummeeglutenfree
Slice bananas into pillars (about 4cm) and place onto a paper lined tray
Top with nut butter and place in freezer to flash freeze for 30 – 60 minutes
Meanwhile whisk melted coconut oil with Cacao Powder, Maca and maple syrup until so smooth and glossy you want to dribble it onto everything. (there will be leftovers)
To assemble, use a teaspoon to dribble and drip the melted chocolate over the cold bananas with nut butter – it should solidify.
Acting quickly add the Cacao Crunch and crushed nuts. Toothpicks optional but they do make them a lot easier to scoff.
You can eat these straight away or store in the freezer for an extra cool version . (for those with teeth sensitivities to cold, thaw slightly before eating!!)
Plus you'll be the first to hear about new products, exclusive offers, superfood recipes and more.
