Elderberry Syrup. An easy to make magical concoction for immunity support prep which just also happens to be delicious. Make it in batches for a spoonful of goodness the whole family will love.
2/3 cup Power Super Foods Elderberry Powder
3 cups filtered water
2 tbsp sliced or grated ginger
1/2- 1 cup of organic honey (or another liquid sweetener)
3 cloves
1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup Power Super Foods Goji Berries
Combine Elderberry Powder, water and ginger (and other additions if using) in a medium saucepan
Simmer for 30-45 mins until reduced by about 1/3
Strain into a jug using a fine mesh strainer (Keep the excess powder and use in chia puddings or muffins – you could also leave it in the mixture)
Allow to cool and stir in honey
Pour into and store in a sterilised glass container in the fridge – makes 1-2 cups
Take 1 – 2 tsp a day as a preventative and increase frequency if unwell or in recovery.
